OQO has launched what it is claimiing is the “industry’s first ultra mobile PC” which converts into a Windows XP based Tablet.

The device, which is the size of a handheld, packs the punch of a full size notebook computer with a 1 GHz processor, 30GB hard drive and 512 MB RAM.

The screen is a respectable 800 x 480 W-VGA 5″ display.

The great thing for anyone who does a lot of mobile computing though, has to be the weight - at only 14 grams. Nice.

It also has a few of the other bells and whistles, with WiFi, USB 2.0, Firewire and a 3.5mm headphone jack and comes with a few accessories like a universal power supply, digital pen and a handy docking port with video output, an additional USB 2.0, FireWire, Ethernet (100/10) etc. etc.

If small, light and powerful are what you are after (and most travelers are) then this one might be worth checking out.
