It looks like mobile computing is going to go to a new level soon with Microsoft expected to announce the fruits of their “origami project.”

So what is “origami?”

Well nobody knows for sure, but this video gives a pretty decent idea - even though the images are supposedly over a year old.

From that is looks like a mobile computer bigger than a palm, but smaller than a tablet.

It seems to have quite a few bells and whistles too that might be of great interest to us travelers.

Of course, I am sure it will have a decnet size hard drive to store digital photos and your MP3. From the video it looks like you’ll be able to hook the origami up to yoru mobile phone to send the pics too. Of course you can make notes for the pics on the origami too.

It also looks like it will be set up to give you remote access to your desktop PC.

The games for the origami that they show in the clip also look pretty decent.

It’s Wifi enabled so you can send email and browse the web if you can find an internet connection.

It also looks like it will incorporate a GPS device for city or countryside navigation.

Whatever it is, it is expected to be announced on Thursday.

This certainly looks like something we’ll be following.
