Malaria Watch
If you travel a little off the beaten path then you have probably been to a few places where Malaria can be a bit of a problem.
A clever inventor from South Africa, Gervan Lubbe, has come up with a way to minimise the risk of getting really sick from it - by wearing the watch he invented!
The watch will prick the skin of your wrist several times a day and do a blood test on your blood for Malarial Parasites. If the Parasite count is above a safe level then the watch will display a picture of a mosquito which will be your warning to start taking anti-Malarian drugs.
Anyone who has ever has Malaria will tell you that the small miscomfort of having your wrist pricked a few times a day is far preferential to getting full blown Malaria.
At about $280, I think this one is a bargain.
